I saw women working tirelessly in farms and homes yet remaining financially dependent. I knew the solution wasn't charity – it was creating opportunities for them to become entrepreneurs and leaders in their own right.

— Prashant Pal
Founder & CEO, PURE India Trust

Prashant comes from a middle-class background and witnessed economic hardship firsthand. After a corporate career in management and operations – including a stint abroad in the Philippines – he returned to India in 2012, inspired by the Anna Hazare movement. In 2013, he co-founded PURE India Trust alongside his wife Medha Naruka.

The Journey Behind the Mission

How one person's empathy became a movement

🌾
Witnessing the Problem
Growing up in a middle-class family, Prashant saw women work in agriculture and manage households while remaining financially dependent – trapped in cycles of debt for basic necessities and family rituals.

A Corporate Career & International Experience
A decade in corporate roles focused on management, operations and community development, including work in the Philippines, gave Prashant a global perspective on development and self-reliance.

Return to India & The Turning Point
The Anna Hazare movement brought Prashant back to India in 2012. Meeting Anna Hazare and Kiran Bedi reinforced his conviction. He co-founded PURE India Trust with his wife Medha Naruka in March 2013.
🚀
Building a Movement
Starting with grassroots women entrepreneurship programs in Rajasthan, PURE India Trust grew to serve 10,000+ individuals annually across 18 states, recognised by MetLife, EY, Tata Power, United Way and 30+ other partners.
